Hunters Lodge is conveniently situated for Southampton City Centre which means all the sights and attractions are only a short distance away including the Guild Hall, Civic Centre, Mayflower Theatre, West Quay Shopping, including the new IKEA store, Leisureworld, Ocean Village Marina, Docks, Ferry Port, Cruise Terminals (see our Cruise Info page), University, General Hospital SO16 6YD , National Oceanography Centre, Royal South Hants and Spire Southampton (formerly the Chealybeate BUPA) Hospitals.Southampton benefits from good rail and road links and therefore places like the New Forest are only a 15 minute drive away with Lyndhurst (10 miles), Winchester (13 miles), the Rose Bowl (Hampshire Cricket stadium), West End Southampton (6 miles), Hamble (8 miles), Romsey (7 miles), Portsmouth (20 miles), Salisbury (23 miles) and Bath (64 miles) all being easily accessible too. Southampton Central railway station is only half a mile away (0.8K) and access to the M3 and M27 motorways is only a short drive. The Isle of Wight is a short ferry crossing away and the Red Funnel Ferry terminal is only a mile away from us.Located in a quiet residential district yet within easy accessibility of the city centre our double fronted Victorian house retains many original features which are enhanced by the furnishing styles within the public areas.Within the locality there are a variety of many fine restaurants, cafes and bars available for your evening meals and catering for all tastes. As previously mentioned Southampton Central railway station and the National Express coach station are both 0.8Km and 1Km away from us respectively with the ferry, docks and cruise terminals being about 2Km away and all can be easily reached by foot, car or taxi or local transport within 10 minutes.FacilitiesThere is a spacious dining room and a lounge with a licensed residents bar. Our lounge and bar area creates a warm and friendly atmosphere for you to enjoy a drink, view television or just simply relax with a good book. We also have free WiFi internet connection throughout and a free dedicated broadband internet connection with PC, desk, printer and scanner sited in the lounge area for our guests use.Hunters Lodge also has one of the larger off road car parks in the locality with 4 off road bays at the front 6 off road bays at the rear together with 4 garages for the guests use when available. Motorcyclists and bicyclists may also securely store their cycles there at no extra cost.We are unable to reserve or guarantee car parking spaces as it is on a first come first serve basis but will always make every effort to accommodate guests vehicles. However in exceptional circumstances, should an off road car parking space be unavailable then car parking is allowed in Landguard Road overnight from 6pm to 8am.We appreciate that after checkout guests may not be able to board their cruise ship or catch their plane, for instance, until later in the day. For these guests who would rather relax here then you are most welcome to make use of our lounge area to while away this time. If you would rather do some last minute shopping or sightseeing we are more than happy to store your luggage here whilst you do this.Whatever your needs are we will always try to accommodate them.Our bedrooms are comfortable and well equipped and the dining room awaits you in the morning for a complete and hearty, freshly cooked breakfast.Hunters Lodge is an ideal choice whether your stay is for business or just visiting family or friends or for pre-cruise accommodation.

From the M3 MotorwayLeave the M3 motorway at Junction 14 joining the A33 for Southampton.At the second roundabout (signposted for Sports Centre and Hospital) take a right turn onto Winchester Road (A35).Continue on this road until the next major roundabout where you need to turn left and then go immediately straight across a mini-roundabout into Hill Lane.Continue along Hill Lane passing through 4 sets of traffic lights and with Springhill School on your lefthand side at the 4th set of lights, Landguard Road will then be the 2nd turning on your right.Hunters Lodge is situated halfway along Landguard Road on your lefthand side.From the M27 MotorwayLeave the M27 motorway at junction 3 taking the M271 for Southampton.Continue right to the end of the M271 taking a left turn to join the A33 (signposted for West Quay). Once joining the A33 keep in the middle lane and continue along the A33 for Southampton. Once you pass a small parade of shops on your lefthand side and then passing through a set of traffic lights you will soon approach a footbridge.Take the immediate left exit past the footbridge into Payne's Road (signposted Shirley).Continue along Payne's Road to the first set of traffic lights taking a righthand turn into Shirley Road with Landguard Road being the next turning on your left.Hunters Lodge is situated halfway along Landguard Road on your righthand side.From Southampton Central Railway StationUpon arrival at Southampton Central railway station you will need to exit from platform 1 out onto Southbrook Road .Directly opposite you will see an Office Block, to the lefthand side of which there is a pathway leading directly out onto the Commercial Road. Taking this pathway to the set of traffic lights and pedestrian crossing ahead will lead you directly into Hill Lane.Landguard Road will be the 4th road on your lefthand side as you walk along Hill Lane.Hunters Lodge is situated halfway along Landguard Road on your lefthand side.At both exits at Southampton Central railway station there are taxi ranks and the cost to reach us should be between GBP3.00 to GBP4.00.From the National Express Coach StationAt the National Express Coach Station Harbour Parade Southampton there is a taxi office in operation on site and to get here will cost between GBP4.00 to GBP6.00.Should you wish to walk you will need to:-Turn left out from the main office onto Western Esplanade.Following this along this road you will see a footbridge which crosses over the railway line before Southampton Central railway station.Continue down to the station and follow the above directions from the Office Block in Southbrook Road above.
